My goodness, it’s been ten months since I wrote a post for my blog!
2014 wasn’t a good year for me. Not because of things that happened that year, it just sort of… worked out that way. At first I was waiting to feel better – I have fibromyalgia and chronic myofacial pain syndrome. Then I had what most delicately would be described as a bump in the road, mental-health-wise. That knocked me down more than I care to remember. In the summer I went to Hawaii, and then fall was coming and I had to start preparing for NaNoWriMo.
I did win at NaNo, but on November 28th, I got a migraine, so when I got to fifty thousand words – becoming an official winner – I stopped writing.
The migraine lasted until last Friday. That’s 78 days of my life I’ll never get back.
But boy have I been a busy little beaver this weekend! I fixed the errors I found in The Portal Project Omnibus. I did a paper-edit of The Spell Builders and entered the changes. I did the chapter links for The Long Dark. I made a page on my website with a list of everything I’ve read so far this year, with the intention of keeping a log for 2015.
I’ll be spending a great deal of time in the next few weeks getting my house back in order and starting to exercise again. Around the edges of that, I’ll be updating my outline for Unbreaking (the previously mentioned NaNo ’14 project) so that I can get back to writing it. I am considering making finishing it my Camp NaNoWriMo project, if I can bear to wait that long to get back to it. Seeing as how I have plenty other work to do, it might be best.
I also have a few blog posts to do. I was a guest speaker at a creative writing club at my daughter’s junior high, and I simply must post the wonderful short story in which Nathan Weaver (fictionally) killed me.
I’m so glad to be back!
